Import Underground

ImportUnderground.com is a social network website geared for import car enthusiasts where users can create user-generated posts as well as create their own groups. It was a side project that I started a while back (during my spare time) and have since launched.

The purpose behind this project was to see if I can use all my skills to create a user-generated, social media/social network website, along with some gamification aspects to create a website that hopefully people in the tuner community would like to use.

My role as Web Designer/Developer for Import Underground was to design and develop the entire website from scratch. The inital wireframes, mockups, design comps, code development, and database design/structure flexed my entire range of skills to create a fully functional social network site from the ground up.

My goal was to develop the website with the intent of creating a new experience that is far different from the normal forums used by most car enthusiasts. The tools I used are HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX, and PHP/MySQL to develop the entire site and also integrate some gamification aspects and user-generated content management.
